Opening Statement from Chairman
has a lively and hardworking Governing body who give their time freely in order to support and sometimes challenge, all aspects of school life. They have varied backgrounds and are able to bring expertise in their area of interest and experience, to enrich meetings and help in decision making. They extend their knowledge of current educational practises through attending Local Authority courses both in School and at a variety of venues. They sit on sub-committees where relevant issues are discussed in more detail. There are several types of Governor – those appointed by the Local Authority, Community Governors, Parent and Staff Governors and, as we are a church school, Foundation Governors. The numbers and types of these are set down in our constitution. You will see many Governors around the school, supporting events, helping with reading or learning their way around the building. The Governing body is very supportive of Miss Theaker the Headteacher, and of all the staff. They are assisted in every way by their very able Clerk, Mrs Anne Kirkby.
